Hi friends, you might be looking for the similar solution to get rid of the unity cause unity is not that good as the old beautiful gnome look. I too don’t like the current alpha look of Unity cause nothing is stable. This doesn’t mean that stop Unity. Unity is the major change that is happening in the upcoming Ubuntu 11.04 Lucid Lynx. They are changing the look but what happened to the old beautiful gnome? My friends, its still alive and along with you in your PC. Yes, you don’t need to install any third party system.
There is something you can do in order to see you system revert back to the old appearance. Here is how you get the old gnome look back. Basically there are two ways of getting it back. This way, whether you’re going online to access sites like www.pokerblog.com, or Just kill the unity and the start “gnome-panel” and you get it with most of the function not working and this was the hardest way.
The easiest way to get it back is just “log off” and the click on your “username”. Then do not enter the password that quick. When you click your username, you see a small “panel” at the bottom of your screen. There you go and choose the “gnome compatibility”. And type your password. That’s the easiest way you get your beautiful gnome with everything working at its best.
