[SOLVED] Battery icon lost on Ubuntu 11.04 Natty Narwhal

Well friends, my friends had the older version of Ubuntu 10.10 on his laptop Lenovo.  He told that he upgraded his Ubuntu as I told him that natty is the worst you will ever see but he finally upgraded. I told that I didn’t liked the Unity introduced as the default look. So I searched for a lot, but didn’t got any solution. So then I logged out and selected for the “Gnome” look during login screen And I got the battery with all the information that I needed. And he was happy. But that was not just the solution I was happy with.

So I just went back to unity and you might be willing to work on unity as the major change on Natty was the Unity. So here is the solution. Open your terminal and type the following:

  • sudo add-apt-repository ppa:iaz/battery-status && sudo apt-get update
  • sudo apt-get install battery-status

Now just log out if necessary, you will get your detailed battery status.

[SOLVED] Your Internet security settings prevented one or more files from being opened

[UPDATE] A youtube video that worked

Hi friends, I had installed an anonymous software which changed the setting of my PC. So that I start getting the following error while running any application or installing any driver on windows 7:

The files can’t be opened
Your Internet security settings prevented one or more files from being opened.

I search for the internet for the solution but couldn’t get any help. Though I tried different solutions, it was unable to work for me. After that I tried to system restore but unfortunately I didn’t had any restore point nearby date. So I had a great problem with my PC.

I then inserted a new USB device and the same dialog box appeared then I thought that I will never had any new device installed on my PC. But I have thought of a solution for the Devices to get installed while those error shows. What you do is to follow a silly process.

Restart your PC while inserting the device on your PC. Then boot the system, the device will be automatically be installed. That’s just a simple trick that may help you.

But the process doesn’t work with the applications. I had winrar installed and I cannot directly extract the file by right clicking the file and extract the desired files. But I can open the file and extract the file.

But for the applications to run you can open “cmd” and then go to the location/folder path and run the desired file easily.

Hope this solution worked for you.
